WELCOME

This site is designed to answer some of the questions you might have about me, my practice, and therapy in general.

We tend to seek therapy at times in our life when we feel unsure of how to make our lives feel better and work better. Sometimes events happen that change our lives and we need

help navigating this new change or situation. We may also need help in discovering how our past situations are keeping us stuck in our present lives in a negative way. Sometimes we simply need someone to help us validate our own decisions and choices.

Relationships can be difficult because we all have differences that can create conflict. I work with many couples, families, and friendships that need a third party that can help them relate in a more positive, productive, and/or loving way.I use a variety of therapeutic approaches and tools. These can vary depending on the type of help the client is seeking and the unique personality of each client. I am very proactive in working with clients. I give suggestions, ideas, help problem solve, facilitate communication, encourage new behaviors, empathize, and validate.

Feel free to call in order to address any questions or concerns you might have before setting an appointment . I look forward to working with you.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I have been in private practice for over twenty years. During those years I have counseled both individual clients and couples with a variety of issues. I completed my Masters in Counseling at George Washington University in Washington D.C. I am a Kansas City native. I am happily married with three grown children. I am also an adjunct professor at Rockhurst University where I teach both Psychology and Woman's Studies. My personal interests include running, yoga, humanitarian travel in developing countries, adventure travel, playing with my dog, and spending time with family and friends.

ABOUT ME

HOURS & RATES

HOURS

I am currently scheduling clients on all weekdays. I have evening hours available on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Counseling Sessions typically last 1 hour, but 30 minute sessions or 90 minute sessions are available upon request.

For a one hour session, I charge $160.

I am a cash practice. What this means is that I am paid with cash, check or credit card at the end of each session. I provide each of my clients a receipt. The receipt includes all documentation and coding that is required by insurance companies. Clients are responsible for submitting these receipts to their insurance companies.

I advise new clients to check ahead of time to find out, from their insurance companies, what coverage is provided for mental health services, since all plans are different.
